Thank you for the opportunity to view the great video. It was very inspiring and motivational. Since December 2009 our facility, has been through Terminations of temp workers and probationary workers, "VBO" (Voluntary Buy-outs for those eligible for retirement)twice, "RIF" Reduction in Force once, Terminations of contract employees and some unclassified employees, "Voluntary Furloughs". There is now a possibility of Mandatory Furloughs and Reduction in Force after July 1, 2010. During this time also restructuring - reassignment of staff, closed buildings - moved departments to different buildings, loss of services, and absorbing / inheriting additional duties. Added to this mix is the behavior of people under extreme stress and a culture of "leadership" that is bullying and rewarding cut-throat tactics and encouraging assigning blame and "do not talk" to anyone. So, any encouragement is appreciated. Sadly, sometimes it is such a relief to be able to survive the week!

Like the idea. It helps that I am retired! Perhaps that is a little unfair! Still, I think that the underlying feeling must be positive all days, no matter what is coming up that particular day.

52 weeks in a year
260 work days in a year
take out 52 Mondays = 208
take out 2 weeks vacation = 194
take out approx 5 holidays = 189
take out approx 3 sick days = 186

with only approx 186 days (or approx 6 months) to make a difference at our job and with the people we work with, it's time to stop throwing away the one thing you can never get back...time.

TGIM. Make it count. Great video Scott!

Two things stuck with me. 1 - "Give it time. That'll change." So very typical of a corporate work environment. 2 - That the days of the week dictate our moods.

Both of these are spiritual poison.

I had the same thing happen to me. One of the rituals at the office I worked at was to gather in the kitchen around the... yup you guessed it water cooler... and bemoan Monday. Fresh out of school I just didn't get why they weren't happy and grateful to have a job LOL
